Inspirational Tyers

Below are people who have inspired me as a fly tyer, and people that I want to give credit to. Some of the people have passed away and I want to be able to pass along their legacy to other tyers.

Al Brunell - Al was my mentor and a great friend. I learned many things from Al, both in a my tying and personal life. He will be truly missed.

Joe Ayre - I met Joe while attending college at Idaho State University. He taught me how do do woven body stoneflies and also opened my eyes to a world of materials that I never considered for fly tying. He was truly a fly tying maverick.

Kent Bulfinch - Kent was a pioneer in the realistic arena, with his realistic stonefly nymphs. He was awarded the FFF Buz Buzek award in 1990.

Ned Long - Ned was one of the first tyers to come up with the pullover technique to create an alternative to parachute flies.
